AI Prompt Enhancer

Turn a rough prompt into a clear, structured one for an AI chat assistant or image generator. The tool checks your prompt against a best-practice checklist and fits it into a template for the job, keeping your wording and marking anything missing with a placeholder for you to fill in. It works with rules and templates, not an AI model, and runs entirely in your browser.

Enhance a prompt

Write it the way you normally would. Pasted code blocks are kept exactly as they are.

How the AI Prompt Enhancer Works

  1. Enter your prompt and choose what it’s for

Type or paste a prompt of up to 2,000 characters, then pick what it’s for (general, coding, writing, image generation, marketing) and a tone. You can also describe the output format you want, and it is added word for word. Nothing is processed until you select Enhance prompt, and the same input always gives the same result.

  2. It checks which parts your prompt covers

The tool looks for the parts a clear prompt usually has: a role, context, the task itself, constraints, the audience, an output format, examples and success criteria, plus details that matter for the kind of prompt, such as a tech stack for code or lighting for an image. It does this with lists of English keywords and patterns, such as “act as” for a role or “300 words” for a length. It doesn’t understand meaning, so it can miss a detail you phrased differently. Code blocks you paste are skipped by the checks and kept exactly as they are.

  3. It fits your prompt into a template

Each kind of prompt has its own template. General: a role, context, your prompt as the task, constraints, tone guidance, output format. Coding: a role, language and stack, your prompt as the task, constraints, edge cases, expected output, tone guidance, a request to explain its reasoning briefly. Writing: a role, your prompt as the task, audience, tone guidance, length, structure, what to avoid. Image generation: your prompt as the subject, style, composition, lighting, color, a mood based on the tone, aspect ratio, negative prompt. Marketing: a role, your prompt as the task, audience, goal, channel, tone guidance, key message, call to action. Your own text is kept word for word as the task. Details your prompt already covers are left to your wording, and anything missing gets a highlighted placeholder like “[add your tech stack]”, because the tool never guesses facts about your project. If your prompt is already well structured, it is kept as written and only missing details are added at the end.

  4. Review the changes and the score

A “What changed” list says what was added, kept or flagged as missing. The completeness score shows how much of the checklist your original prompt covers, out of 100: each component is worth set points, and general prompts check role 10, context 20, task 25, constraints 15, audience 10, output format 15, examples 5; coding prompts check role 10, language and stack 20, task 25, constraints 15, edge cases 10, output format 10, examples 5, success criteria 5; writing prompts check role 10, task 25, audience 20, length 15, structure 10, what to avoid 10, context 5, examples 5; image generation prompts check subject 30, style 15, composition 15, lighting 10, color 10, aspect ratio 10, negative prompt 10; marketing prompts check task 20, audience 20, goal 15, channel 15, key message 15, call to action 10, context 5. For example, the writing prompt “write a blog post about remote work for small teams” scores 25, with points for task. Fill in the placeholders, delete any that don’t apply, then copy the prompt into the AI tool you use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does an AI model rewrite my prompt?

No. The AI Prompt Enhancer doesn’t use an AI model. It structures and improves your prompt with best-practice templates and rules: it checks for common prompt components with keyword patterns, keeps your wording as the task, and adds a role, tone guidance and placeholders for anything missing. That makes the result predictable, but it can’t understand your request the way an AI model would.

Will an enhanced prompt guarantee better AI responses?

No. A prompt that states its role, context, audience, constraints and output format gives an AI assistant more to work with, and is widely recommended as good practice, but no tool can guarantee a better response. Results depend on the AI model, the details you add to the placeholders and the task itself. Try the enhanced prompt, compare the answers, and adjust.

How is the completeness score calculated?

Each kind of prompt has a checklist of components with set points that add up to 100: general prompts check role 10, context 20, task 25, constraints 15, audience 10, output format 15, examples 5; coding prompts check role 10, language and stack 20, task 25, constraints 15, edge cases 10, output format 10, examples 5, success criteria 5; writing prompts check role 10, task 25, audience 20, length 15, structure 10, what to avoid 10, context 5, examples 5; image generation prompts check subject 30, style 15, composition 15, lighting 10, color 10, aspect ratio 10, negative prompt 10; marketing prompts check task 20, audience 20, goal 15, channel 15, key message 15, call to action 10, context 5. A component earns its points when the tool finds a matching keyword or pattern in your prompt, and the breakdown shows the text it matched. An output format typed in the output format field also counts. The score measures how complete your original prompt is, not how good it is.

Why does the enhanced prompt contain [add …] placeholders?

The tool doesn’t know your project, so instead of inventing details it marks what’s missing, such as “[add your tech stack]” or “[add who will read this]”. Replace each placeholder with your own details, or delete it if it doesn’t apply. Leaving placeholders in can confuse the AI tool you paste the prompt into.

Does it work with code and with other languages?

Code blocks fenced with three backticks or tildes are kept exactly as you pasted them and are ignored by the checks. Prompts in other languages are kept as written too, but the checks look for English keywords, so details may be flagged as missing when they’re there, the score is less reliable, and the added headings are in English.

Is my prompt sent or saved anywhere?

No. Your text is processed in your browser and never sent to our servers or to an AI service. It isn’t saved to storage or cookies, put in the page address, or included in analytics, and the tool is masked from session recording.
